While i’m still recovering from our golden parties i have been quite lazy about writing on the blog. Seems i have no ideas or about what i’m going to write about. So, i decided to bring some tracks i have been listening “on repeat mode”!
There is a lot of stuff that i don’t post and i’m hearing all the time. The best thing you can do is follow us on Facebook. For sure you will understand what i’m talking about. It’s almost impossible to blog everything we “catch”! Another reason for you to visit us, because we are dropping new music, like every hour…. However, in the future we are planning to make a lot of changes around here and put everything we like on the blog. I mean… we have a lot of work to do….

Yesterday around 2:00 am i was searching for something new and i found a summer track! From Mexico, Oscar Avendaño aka Levantine made a very good job here. I just love this french touch or whatever you want to call it. This “Marianne” track is smooth, intense and sexy at the same time. This kinda of music reminds me Summer, beach, love, freedom and…. I’m so in love for this that i just can’t stop replaying it. Can you feel it?

I love Yacht! Since i met them i have been i love with their music. In fact, before going to Oporto i was going to dedicate them a blog post, but i didn’t have time and now just seems useless to write about it. Anyway, their latest EP with remixes by The Emperor Machine and Whatever/Whatever was released on October 24th. Everyone is crazy about Emperor Machine’s remix, but the Whatever/Whatever remix really touched me. It has the Dfa feeling all over it. I listened to it on the plain, while i was waiting for someone to take me on the airport, while i was on the plain back home, and also, while i’m writing this post!

Yacht – Dystopia The Earth is on Fire (Whatever Whatever Remix)

Another one that has been killing me is the remix by Yan Wagner for “We Are Young” from the french group Juveniles. This EP is amazing. Besides being my favorite remix, this track takes me back maybe to 2009. Nowadays it’s so hard to find this electro pop that used to be very easy to listen a not so long ago. I love everything on this remix! The vocals are very appropriate, taking us to the late 80′s and plus and really shakes the dancefloor. Believe me, i have seen it for real in our Golden Party!

Juveniles – We Are Young (Yan Wagner remix)

The Australians Club Feet have been quite active lately. Their new EP is awesome and they have given three remixes for free download. For me this one by Dimitri For Paris has been played all the time. However the C’90s and RAC have made a good job as well. It’s just a matter of choose your favorite and download it. Finally the remix by Tiga for Friendly Fires! WOW… it’s all i can say. This is absolutely amazing. We can say that probably this one doesn’t have anything new, but we are talking about TIGA and FRIENDLY FIRES! This is just massive. I’ve been drinking this “potion” since this dude released this awesome work. It seems that this remix has two faces. It starts very chill and keeps growing until you feel breathless. At 3:42m arrives the madness of this addictive drug…. Enjoy!

I could just say Headman has a new EP. But i won’t, because he deserves much more than just a “line”. This dude is one of my favorite artists, ever….

Swiss-born and Berlin-based Robi Insinna, aka Headman, graced the “nu disco” movement beginning in the early 2000s as a DJ, producer, and founder of Relish Records in 2001. Headman was part of a movement called “punk funk” pumping on the dancefloors all over the world. In 2003 he releases his first album called “It Rough” by Gomma Records, seems like it was yesterday. This awesome work included remixes for Seelunft, Munk, Chicken Lips and Annie.
In 2006 he releases his “Sophomore” album, On, featuring collaborations with Soulwax and Rapture. His third album “Catch ME” comes out in 2008. He keeps remixing names like Tiga, Doves and The Invisibles.
In 2009 he keeps going very active remixing the influential electro new wave band The Unit and collaborated with Yello frontman Dieter Meier on the single “Gimme”. In 2010 Robi released his fourth album on his imprimant 1923 featured guest vocalist Steve Mason. After this career review i can only conclude that everyone wants to work with this amazing artist.

Today Headman released a new EP called “Adolescent Sex” With one remix by Munk, a dub version, an awesome vocal extended version and also a live dub “view” by Andy Blake. This work is available on Relish Records and also on Beatport.

“Returning with his first new cut since his 1923 album and its accompanying singles, Headman offers up a cover. The band chosen has had much influence over Headman’s career and sound and in a fitting tribute he has picked an early highlight of the band’s catalogue to illuminate and re-imagine.

Accompanying the release is a video by none other than Dieter Meier, who returns to his early Yello style of image production rooted in his quintessential hi-speed photo-collage.”

Formed in 2004 by Jens Moelle and Ísmael Tüfekçi, Digitalism definitely have made the difference on the worldwide electronic music scene. Since they started showing us their magnificent music, everything is different! They showed us that it’s possible to mix several musical genres without taking the essence from the dancefloor… this is just my personal view of these awesome German dudes. Everyone remembers tracks like (youtube links) “Idealistic”, “Pogo” or even “Jupiter Room”, (Which i have in 12″) all tracks from their debut album called “Idealism” in 2007. Everyone was astonished with such a perfect album, being played everywhere.

Their discography is not too long, they only have one album and a few EP’s with some official remixes by Shinichi Osawa and A-Trak. I believe they do this because they prefer quality instead of quantity. Anyway, they have remixed a lot of well rated names like (youtube links) Munk, The White Stripes, The Cure, Daft Punk, Klaxons, The Presets, Tiga and many more….Besides these remixes, they have also borrowed their music for official soundtracks of Electronic Arts, like “Need For Speed” and “Fifa” soccer game. Also, “Zdarlight” was used in a commercial for BMW. Their music was pumping everywhere!!!

Lately they have been giving us tracks like (youtube links) “Stratosphere”, “2 Hearts”, “Blitz” and “Forrest Gump” with participation of Julian Casablancas from The Strokes. All these musics are going to be included on this album.Their new album called “I Love You Dude”, for what i have been listening, the “formula” is very similar from “Idealistic”, and for the reactions of people to their fusion between Indie-Rock, Electro-Electronica are going to make of this work another “hit”. Just like “Idealistic” was. Digitalism are not just another duo. They are going to stay forever in our hearts… not because of this new album, but for everything they have done for the electronic music.This precious release is coming out on 21st June. It’s imperative for you to stay tuned.

In 2008 i had a Turbo 58 (The Worm), in 2010 a Turbo 90 (ZZAfrika) and now i’m about to go to the drug store next door to buy some Prozac while waiting for the powerful Turbo 100 (ZZAfrika Remixes EP)! Who’s fault is it?????? WOO!!!

Florian Senfter  (Zombie Nation) and Tiga are guilty for all these “tuning”. When they get together they form ZZT, a kind of Silver Power Ranger capable of making you “WOOO!!!” for a long time. ZZAfrika Remixes EP is coming out on 30th May (31st May Digital format), being the 100th release of Turbo Recordings. It’s a “must have”.
The 3*LP has 6 cuts while the Digital has 10 tracks including 4 exclusive.
