Our good friends, Punks Jump Up, have just dropped a remix on their soundcloud page. It’s part of the  newest release of Villa, “Mint”, set to be released on February 11th , and this particular song is only available in digital format. The full set comes along with other remixes by Softwar and No Regular Play.
This is a just what you can expect from Punks Jump Up, nice clean cuts and a little disco feel set for the club. I honestly think they live in a disco club, because every time I listen to their work I’m transported to the dancefloor. Share the love and like our golden friends on their Facebook page.

I was just about to go to bed when I saw that Punks Jump Up uploaded their new “Feels Good” EP. So cool! They’re definitely one of our all-time fav. This time the UK duo teamed up with Martin Dubka for the instrumental production, and the vocal is in charge of Saint Saviour‘s. The result is bombastic! You can feel several influences from everyone’s involved here. You already know that PJU always sounds funny, blending pretty much well with Dubka’s “typical” (surely very personal) touch. This single is all about, Disco, Synths, happiness, power on the dance floor, and really makes me wanna dance, Non-Stop! I’m not going to tell you that there’s a dub version of this track, because they didn’t upload it. Actually they did, but they will take it down. They won’t, but they should. Swedish duo Drop Out Orchestra are back with a new EP “It Will Never Be The Same Again”. Here you have two excellent remixes from Moullinex and Punks Jump Up. Punks Jump Up have been on fire lately. Here’s their new remix for the single “Stars” from the Polish band Rebeka, which have dropped via Disco Texas. Like usual we don’t know what to expect from these guys. Their remixes are always so creative and different that it’s really hard to tell which one has their formula. I guess their formula is to be different. Enjoy..!

Punks Jump Up are one of my personal favourites. I love their tracks and also their mixes. If i had the chance to listen to them on a dj set, for sure it would be epic (at least for me). You can’t go wrong with these two. It’s good and it will always be like this. It’s their natural golden touch!

If Kitsuné bets on it, that’s a guarantee that it will be an assured success, and so it has been. We first heard from Special CCCrash through their remixes, which haven’t pass unnoticed. After listening to ‘Blockhead’ and ‘Chimes’ we can finally enjoy their most recent EP. Yes, you may already know who we are talking about; Punks Jump Up‘s guys and their upcoming new single ‘Get Down (Special CCCrash) Mixxx’. They literally say that it is their modern take & homage to Prince, Trax Records & Yello, in equal measures; capturating the rawness of the early Trax Records releases with the flashiness of Prince & the quirky playfulness of Yello’s early dance tracks, Punks Jump Up said that they wanted to “Bring these influences together, turn it up & give them a modern dance touch.” That may sounds a little too ambitious, but these guys know exactly what to do.

The EP comes with the original track and five remixes by JBAG, Alex Gopher, Fare Soldi, Zero Cash, The Deadstock 33′s and there is no time wasted on any of them. When we first listened to the original track we instantly got in the mood with all that energy. The bass-line will get stuck in your head and then you will be lost, there is no escape from those rhythms! Also those catchy vocals work perfectly together with the addictive percussion  for non-stop dancing. The remix package just as noteworthy!

The first remix is made by JBAG, the French-Italian duo, who have done their thing by adding a smoothy bass-line with subtle futuristic touches turning it into a pleasant breeze of French Touch spirit. OMG we love those sounds! Alex Gopher, as it could be any other way, has contributed with the dance version, even bordering acid house. If you wanna party hard, that’s your tune! Fare Soldi‘s rework is just a banger. The italian duo have done their best with that dangerously catchy disco bass-line and punchy synths, we warn you that those vibes are irresistible!

Zero Cash‘s version is maybe the most different or unique of the remixes. The producer has gone to the deep side with the dance spirit stressing the melodies. Despite taking a less dance oriented sound it still sounds good! And finally we have The Deadstock 33′s which is just brilliant. The British producer has put the tune to another level, leaving ‘almost’ behind the vocals. We could re-name it as ‘Get Down (Special CCCrash) Mixxx 2.0′ as he has redone the tune with an awesome result, that’s what we call a well done job!

The original track is very Oliver style. It starts with a sexy female sample followed by a robotized male’s voice. The ambient created with these vocals takes me back to 2004, when these kind of “tricks” were often used. It’s very catchy and makes us feel anxious to see what is going to happen next. The intensity keeps growing until 1:36 and then bang, that’s where the first moment of ecstasy comes. After this first moment, the vocals are back, maybe for you to take a rest from all that power. At 2:37 there is a huge break, you may think it will slow down a little, but no Sir. It grows up into another banger rave king moment. This track is very solid and well constructed with two moments that takes us directly to dancefloor. Definitely a track that will be played all over the world!

Black Van‘s remix is more “relaxed”… takes us into an imaginary world of fantasy, colors and like usual pure sexy pleasure. Again, this is a huge work KoweSix & Kris Menace did here. They kept both vocal’s and gave them some echo, that’s why it sounds so sexy. At 1:22 something the beauty of this track invades our ears. It’s so beautiful that makes me feel breathless and keeps on until 2:28 where there is a small break. That’s when you know something is about to happen, they repeat the first “paragraph”. I was about to go back to check that first part, but it wasn’t really necessary because they make sure to repeat it. After listening this track, i’m sure you are going to replay it. It’s impossible to be indifferent to it.

The Punks Jump Up dudes made also an amazing job here. You know these guys weren’t ashamed to play with this track. Like usual they have poisoned it with their inconfundible formula. Always very funny and full of good mood. I’ve been listening to them since ever. This remix is also a winner! They turned this track into a “mess”. Their version is not ecstatic with a solid beat like the original. They start their remix with a built that grows until the 1st minute. Then comes the funny part with congas and bunch of stuff that i don’t even know what it is. Punks Jump music is always very “intuitive” they give the idea they don’t really care, but in the end it sounds epic. Great remix!!!

Finally we have “Walk With Me”. Actually this track is from the beginning of 2011. It was released as free download, and hey! These guys need money too. This is my favorite track they have produced. I have played this more than 100 times. I love this track so much that i can stop replaying. It’s strong, sexy and slowwww. But it’s also a bomb on the dancefloor. Everytime i play this, i know i will shake the dancefloor. In my opinion this is the perfect track for any DJ Set.

I don’t know if this is going to be the best EP of 2012, but for what i have been listening, for sure it is going to a huge success. In my opinion this is going to be played everywhere by everyone. This week is passing by so fast and i have seen so many cool mixtapes coming out, that i have decided to blog some. Again, there is no one new here. However, all theses guys are being very active lately. Everyone here is about to release something new, or have just released something new. It’s quite impressive the way they work and also with so many quality. I would love to write everyday about their stuff, but i have been so tired that i honestly need vacations, or i’m going to get crazy. I know i’m complaining all the time, but it’s true. I wanted to write this post yesterday, but i dying….
Anyway, the new collaborators that came here help, have been so nice and all of them have been shinning. Believe me, i’m not an easy person do deal with! I’m lucky with the people i choose to help me. They have been very patient and sometimes they have to deal with my personality. All their posts have been widely appreciated by the artists. All these things makes me feel very proud of them. I’m not going to cry… but i’m really proud of their work!

Starting with Moullinex, like usual he made an awesome tape. The thing here it’s not even his technique, which is always perfect. These guys never miss when we talk about this issue. The main thing here is that has putted together a lot of exclusive stuff, unreleased and also that will come out. Almost everything from DISCO Texas. I would love to have his hard disk. Can you imagine how many music he has on it? Can’t wait to hear his dj set in our golden party. It is going to be one of the best moments of the year for me. I say this because i never go out, it’s so sad….

Mirror People is driving me crazy. He has a new EP coming out on November. This mix starts with a remix by Munk which will be included on his new EP. He keeps pumping me with more awesome stuff i didn’t know. I’m very anxious to see what is going to be people’s reaction about his new work. This guy truly deserves all the best. He is one of the most talented musicians in our country which is Portugal (just in case). Another appointment, is the fact that this mixtape has only 49 minutes and it’s so cool that you will be listening to this on repeat mode for hours. I’m not a big fan of long mixtapes. If you read my previous posts you know what i’m talking about!

Cassian is also in this pack. I can’t get enough of their remix for the Nightriders. I’m very tempted to play it in Oporto. I know it has already came out a while ago, but it’s so addictive and so perfect, that when i listen to it, believe me or not, it always seems to be the first time. About this mixtape, there is a lot of tracks i haven’t heard before. I don’t know where these guys search for music, but i would be very happy do discover that. Such a great funky feeling all over the mix!

GREAT mixtape is what Moonlight Matters did for the Studio Brussel’s Switch/Playground. Everybody knows i’m his number one fan. I love they way he takes his mixtapes. Seba is one of those guys that doesn’t care at all if the track is new or old. He just feels the need to put some love and also his personal touch. In this mix you can hear Michael Jackson or even a classic Italo Disco. Believe me, this is so massive that i feel so little when i try to do a mixtape. Moonlight Matters will always be around here. He is not just another guy making music. He is a truly music lover. You can feel this in everything he does. All his remixes are massive and also all his mixtapes have a story to tell…

Finally, another curious work here from Punks Jump Up. I felt in love since i saw the title. These guys are so cool! They have made a mixtape just with 80′s classics. They ripped them from vinyl’s, edited and here you have the result. Can you imagine to hear this on a dj set in a disco? It’s like going back in time! This is the s***!

The The Supermen Lovers featuring Herr Styler & Cristine presents us the new single “C’est bon”, which precedes the release of his next Album ”Between The Ages” scheduled to be out on the 7^th of November, via Lafessé records & La Tebwa, the same label since ever for the band.
The single comes out on October 24th, with remixes from Schokodub, Punks Jump Up (announced a video of this remix) and Golden Bug. It has been already for some days that we are enjoying its video, which has just invaded facebook’s walls of all lovers of good French electro house, like us from GS. A video that incites envy on all those, such as me, who will probably see those crystal clear sea waters, just next summer!

There is a popular saying in Italy, according to which, you have got style or you just don’t, and I think that this Parisian music genius Guillaume Atlan, aka The Supermen Lovers, has got style. A musician, a worldwide famous producer, that probably doesn’t need any kind of introduction. If you don’t remember him then I will just give you a few tips to refresh your memory.

It seems to me like it was just yesterday that I was dancing in my home town clubs and in my own bedroom to the sound of “Starlight”, a big successful single of 2001 that was included on TSL’s debut Album “The Player”(2002).
Though he is best known to most of the people because of his world renown hit, The Supermen Lovers boasts an highly respectable discography. Two LPs, “The Player” and “Boys In the Wood” and a long list of EPs and singles, in which were released remixes from  some of the biggest international djs.
Afterwards, in 2008 he starts his joint venture with Ricky Bailey ( former singer from Delegation), which brings to him two new good singles: a remake of “You & I” from Delegation and “Take a Chance”(2010), first single of the next LP “Between The Ages”.
On the wake of some good feedbacks from great artists like Aeroplane, who quite appreciated the return of the band, the EP “Take a chance” comes out also with a second edition (“Vol II”), which presents some extra remixes, one from Guillaume himself, a dub version from Todd Edwards, a Jamaican featured remix from Bost & Bim and a nu-disco remix from the project Frisco.

Right after that, the Foundation Disco EP, featuring former Chic singer Norma Jean Wright on the vocals, comes out on July 2011, boasting remixes of the first track “Keep the Funk Alive” from Chloé, In Flagranti and Cityzen (the Aikiu). A good EP to have “funk” with TSL!
You know what, guys?  The French house school is back. It is the return of disco funk house, like the good old days, at the end of the 90s and in the beginning of the 2000’s, when everything started for the filter house, since the Discovery LP from Daft Punk came out.
Now, new remixes for TSL, plus a second video and then … it begins the countdown till the 7th of November: what do you think about it, c’est bon?

Today i woke up very late and i feel so bad about it. You don’t even imagine the quantity of good music i lost if i don’t keep following. The main “problem” is that i hate to blog stuff without give any kind of information or talk about what i think about what i’m blogging. All i can say is that i’m doing my best. Probably we need more people to help us….

Anyway this pack is huge! Starting with Light Spectrum which is the alter ego used by my good friend Eduardo Del Pozo, also writer for the spanish blog Como Las Grecas. This dude have been making mixtapes with the best stuff that is coming out every month. If you want to keep actualized, the best thing you can do is to follow him on Soundcloud.

Tronik youth like usual makes another cool chart. Very summerish beats…. very much like all others tapes they have been presenting us. This is a perfect mix for you to download and take with you to the beach or even to listen in the middle traffic. Guess i can say you should listen to this, anytime, anywhere….

Xinobi is probably my favorite producer ever (Obrigadão Xino, esta tape tá do Ca*****) and i don’t have any problems to admit this fact. I have been listening to electronic music since ever, and i have never seen a musician giving so much to electronic music like Bruno does. His productions are always amazing and this mixtape is the coolest tape i have been listening in the last months. Xinobi touches several music genres and keeps shaking everyone. I have already wrote an article referring to this fact! He doesn’t make bad stuff, because it’s on his gene’s to make always excellent music!

The Phantom’s Revenge is another dude that has been “killing” me in the last years. There was a period of my life that i was so addicted to his music. I used to spent days listening to his tracks and remixes on repeat mode. Also, his mixtapes are masterpieces. Believe me, this one is fantastic! He made my day….

Punks Jump Up are also in this pack and probably i will follow them more carefully in the future. I have been listening to them in last years and since i began blogging i totally forgot them. It’s not easy to follow everyone, but i really feel bad about this. I love almost everything they have been producing. For sure in the future i will be me attentive to their stuff.
