This is a cover version of “Magic Table” by Spike. It was originally released in 1983, but was then re-released by Golf Channel Recordings in 2011. Our friend Ryan showed us the song cause it freaked him out that Spike’s voice sounds exactly like Filip’s voice. When we heard it we were blown away with the similarity and decided to do a cover just to see how similar the voices are (also cause it’s a damn good song). We were happy with the result and decided to put it on our last mixtape and you can download it here for free.

Pixelated just sent us a little fast paced “End of the World remix” of Slow Down by Poolside which is one of the songs off the fantastic album, “Pacific Standard Time” which they released this year (you can check the video of the original here.) We don’t know much about this new artist but he presents us here with a Nudisco oriented remix, with great focus on the keyboards – as a good disco song should be – set to make you wanna dance on the floor. Pixelated just turned a smooth track set to relax into something that gets you moving to nearest club.

LA-based duo Poolside are back with one of those mesmerizing reworks! A journey to the past with Black Sabbath’s “Planet Caravan” off their second album “Paranoid” released in 1970. As usual we’re facing another beautiful rework from the duo, taking a dark approach and adding their usual touch. Always with a sublime bassline and an addictive “dry” beat. On repeat…….

Sweet stuff to start our week! Poolside is back with a new mix, and you already know that the bpm is lowww. I’ve copied their own thoughts about this piece. Read it below:

“Seasons Change” is a new mix for crisp Autumn days as Winter approaches and the evenings get shorter and shorter. It’s a collection of melancholy tunes we put together while driving through the Northeastern States this past October to fit the moods that come with the changing of the seasons.”

Poolside’s music video for “Only Everything” conveys the great depths of a child’s imagination. What would be a normal boring car ride for any adult becomes a roller coaster for the child with a vivid imagination. The funky yet extremely uplifting beat brings about a sense of childhood nostalgia.

LA-based duo Poolside are in the order of the day! Their brand new LP “Pacific Standard Time” is fresh and it is a deep dive into warm, dreamy, and mellow beats. There has been a huge hype around their music. They’ve been featured on Pitchfork with their single “Slow Down,” but this new LP is not just that single. You will also find great tunes from the past such as: “Do You Believe” or “Harvest Moon.” In total the LP comes with 16 tracks. I’ve been listening to it on repeat since yesterday, and there are two tracks that completely captivated me: “Golden Hour” and “Take Me There”. LA-based duo Poolside are back with a new single “Slow Down”, from their upcoming album “Pacific Standard Time”! YES, really good news! Can you imagine how big this can become? Summer is just about to start, and that’s exactly when they “enter the in the scene”. I truly hope this new album is as awesome as their previous productions. The release date is settled for July 9, via their very own label Day & Night and in Different in Europe. In the meanwhile watch the video below and download this single for free!

Still shaking the world is The Rapture’s “In The Grace Of Your Love.” Honestly I didn’t even know that DFA was going to release these amazing remixes. So, we have from the Spanish genius Pional and from the LA Poolside. I don’t think it’s necessary to say anything else about this, you already know this is going to sound to something big!

While we wait for Summer, for some people, Summer is all year. Here’s another brilliant remix from the French producer Kartell. This time he reworked “Do You Believe” from Poolside. You know you can’t go wrong with this kid! Beautiful remix of one of the best tracks of 2011 that we still listen on repeat. Pure love!

The “Harvest Moon” is also an amazing cover Poolside did from Neil Young. Last year this one was a winner. For me the best version is from the Canadian PEL (Paul E. Lopes). If you check the comments you can see for yourself what the Poolside guys wrote about this edit. I love both versions, but this one is more Balearic and in my opinion it’s also a good way to play something different from everybody else. Enjoy your Sunday in peace…

With Poolside it’s Summer 365! I love their music and i hope they keep “feeding” us in 2012. I’m playing their tracks all the time. This mix is an example of pure class. I would love so much to listen to them playing live. This mix is so so good, that i will keep it for me. Their music is truly inspiring….
