So, yesterday I came across Nicolas Jaar‘s DJ Set @ Boiler Room, and I had to share it with our followers. Besides the brilliant set he did, the good thing about this piece is that we have the chance to see the Chilean wunderkid playing with his “toys.” Since the first moment you click play, you’ll feel the need to listen the whole set. It’s truly impressive to hear the progression of the story, as well as, the interaction and response from the audience. Excellent.

Chilean genius producer, Nicolas Jaar, keeps spoiling us with amazing music! This time he’s delivering a smooth remix of Grizzly Bear’s “Sleeping Ute.” This work is the result of an instantly sold-out collaborative Record Store Day exclusive 12. Jaar also did another remix of Brian Eno‘s “Lux,” which is already being offered at a premium on ebay by enterprising RSD price-gougers. As usually we’re facing a delightful and elegant piece, showing the bright and light side of Nicolas Jaar. Perfect soundtrack for the beginning of the week!

American-Chilean prodigious producer Nicolas Jaar has recently unveiled a first cut titled “Noise” off from his forthcoming album. The video below was directed by Richard Parks. I’ve been listening a lot of Jaar‘s music lately. His unique way of taking his productions always captivated me. It’s almost impossible to stay indifferent to his edits, taking us in a journey into the past. However what makes him different from the “rest” is his capacity of create esoteric and atmospheric environments. His cynical floor-filling approach on the 1966′ classic “La Bohème” from Charles Aznavour and Jacques Plante, makes us travel trough several unconscious states of mind along this edit. Absolutely brilliant!

Today’s weather in the Azores Islands is perfect. It feels so good to wake up and see sun is shining. I don’t know why but usually on weekends, I always feel nostalgic. While searching for something “old”, I came across this magnificent edit from the wonderkid Nicolas Jaar for Nina Simone’s “Feelin Good”. A trip back to the past, reinvented by the hands of the Chilean genius producer!

A couple of days ago I noticed that Nicolas Jaar uploaded to soundcloud this “Russian Dolls”. I was intrigued about this track, mainly because of the lack of hype around it. So, I looked over for some info and found out that this jam is from 2010. It’s really interesting because only last year everyone started to pay “attention” to his work and this track is absolutely brilliant. Maybe I’m wrong but I think we can feel his Chilean roots all over the place. Anyway, I thought was a good idea to share this one, probably because a lot of people missed it. Enjoy…!

Nicolas Jaar’s new video for “Materials”. You can fin this track from the Chilean Techno prodigy on his latest album “Space Is Only Noise” on Circus Company. This video basically it’s a messed-up dream-logic narrative that actually works because it seems like a dream some kid might have.

Second season of Libertine Supersport is going to end this June. These guys need some vacations. This new Agenda’s “movie” comes with some moments of bands and Dj’s also, with a true love story. Reminds me to believe in love!

If it’s the first time you are listening about Libertine. Take a look on all the other agenda’s i have posted. Great artists have played there… many others are going to!
It’s pretty cool to review these videos i have been sharing every month. If i was in Belgium, i would go every week end this last month. I really don’t have any preference. Anyway don’t worry. They are back in September

Before getting into the post i have something to declare… The Danish Government is not paying or blackmailing me to post about Copenhagen bands…i’ve never been in this city and, i even have tried to restrain myself to post this…IMPOSSIBLE!!!

When Saints Go Machine are one of those bands that seem the stones you throw in a quiet lake…they make smooth perfect waves that keep you hypnotized and make you throw another. They’re out there since 2007, but only in January 2011 after the release of “Fail Forever” EP the fuss started. This EP contains 4 tracks, which were previously released by EMI in 2009 under the name of “Ten Makes Face”, but seems people was kind of deaf back then!!! With a little help from a friend (Nicolas Jaar) truth prevailed.
Now, the four-piece danish band (Nikolaj Manuel Vonsild – vocals, Jonas Kenton – keyboards, Simon Muschinsky – keyboards and Silas Moldenhawer – drums) is about to release their first full length album –  ”Kokylie” (21st June – iK7).
“Kelly” is the album-face-single and it’s out and free for you to enjoy. In my opinion this isn’t, for far, the best song of WSGM, it’s a little too much on the pop summer side and, i am definitely more for the obscure side of their work. WSGM is a pop-electronic-alternative band that somehow built a creative sound hard to categorize. The orchestrated strings and gentle electronics they frequently use, take one to a comfortable numb state while the breath taking spectral voice of Nikolaj works like a ticket to another world and back with a pit stop on Antony Heggarts “lap”! Lyrics aren’t always heart friendly but who wants to live on the pink side of ideas and thoughts forever???????

Bottom line, it’s dense sometimes complicated…but over all warm!
