It has been a while since our last blog post, but it’s for a good reason. We had to make some changes around here. However it’s not finished yet. We still have a lot of work in front of us. I hope you enjoy this new design. I believe it’s more organized and prettier as well.

Italo disco is the perfect way to comeback. I have been listening this specific sub-genre for a while. Sometimes i feel the need to fed my ears with a cosmic adventure and strong beats taking me to space which i completely loose notion of time. Since i heard that these remixes were about to be released i couldn’t pass the opportunity to share my love for Giorgio Moroder.

I could just post this without even write a single word, but we are talking about Giorgio Moroder(God). I also feel a bit dummy to write about his career, but it’s the first time i talk about him and i need to share my love and respect for what he gave to the electronic music. Born in Italy in 1940, Hansjörg “Giorgio” Moroder becomes the pioneer of Italo-Disco around the 70′s. He started his own record label called Oasis Records, which several years later became a subdivision of Casablanca Records. His amazing work with synths at the time was very influent on New Wave, house, techno and electronic music in general. In 1966, Giorgio starts his career releasing a few singles. Only four years later he is awarded with the gold disc. Since then he never stopped producing music, mainly with Donna Summer. His music was all over the globe. I think i could stay here forever writing about his career….

About this release, basically it is a tribute to the 1979 classic “E=MC²”. It comes with remixes from the old school and the new wave of Italian producers such as Alexander Robotnick, Daniele Baldelli, I-ROBOTS, Rodion and Diogini. All remixes are very different giving a personal approach of this timeless classic. This pack is already available here. Grab them all and feel the force of the Italo Disco!!!

Formed by the Brazilian duo Lucio Morais and Yuri Chix, Database is one of the most prominent producers from that country. Since 2005 they have started to built a solid career based on Old School Disco with some pinches of Electro and Techno. Since that time they have become local stars. When i say “local stars”, don’t forget Brazil is huge!

Database already counts with remixes for (youtube links) Golden Bug, Is Tropical or even for the legendary Larry Tee. Besides all this work, this duo already played in some of the biggest festivals along with Kanye West, MGMT and they have also made a US tour with French Horn Rebellion.

Their new EP called “New Disco” is their first own EP. Probably this is the work where they put all their ideas for originals. We can assume they have been all these years acquiring knowledge and influences and now they are going to dump all of it on these 3 tracks! For sure you will fall in love for this EP. I have already listened to this minimix several times. This work is going to be a bomb on the dancefloor. The main idea you will keep is that this is a very mature work.

Besides this minimix, i collected some some cool remixes i have on my hard disk for free download. This new EP is coming out on Kitsuné on September 19th!
