It has been a while since we have heard a new mix from Swedish duo Drop Out Orchestra. Finally they dropped a new one, and we’re loving it! Per usual, they keep playing Nu Disco, which is something that is becoming rare these days. Our Swedish friends Drop Out Orchestra are back with great news! “The Blue Train” is taken from their forthcoming EP entitled “The Power of Music.” We’ve picked up this mesmerizing remix from the legendary Dicky Trisco for this single, but there’s also a great remix for “Day Vogue” from Ron Basejam (…listen here…). Both remixes are excellent! If you’re looking for real cosmic and tropical disco, I’m pretty sure that you don’t want to miss this one. We’re really excited about this release! It has been a long time since we heard a bombastic track like this one. While you wait for the EP that is going to be released in February of 2013, you can already buy this remix on Juno.

For those who don’t already know, Adam Padayhag & Xavier Millis aka Dublin Aunts are a very talented DJ/producer duo from Melbourne, Australia who have been steadily making their mark on the electronic music scene since 2009. They just dropped their debut release on Lightspeed Records called Heartbreak Reputation and I must say they are sounding better than ever. But when you pair up a seasoned songwriter/producer and a DMC Champion DJ, you know you’re in for a treat. I’ve been following these guys closely for a couple of years now and I’m happy to see they are still evolving and creating – as they put it – “various boogie sounds”.

Heartbreak Reputation is packed with pure disco/house bliss. I’ve found myself drawn to these smooth summer sounds lately like a moth to a flame. And the reason is pretty simple: the summer is upon us and even us here is the northern regions of the world are blessed with beautiful sunshine and warmth. And what would be better than a soundtrack to match? Well, nothing really. Luckily Dublin Aunts just delivered a nice addition to mine.

Heartbreak Reputation is a soulful, smooth and vocal-driven piece of balaeric goodness. And like that wasn’t enough, the release also has a few really fantastic remixes on it. Drop Out Orchestra delivers a floor-filling disco edit with trumpets and floating strings while Flash Mode brings a moody and totally groovy deep house twist to it. Finally, after hearing DJ Agent 86‘s seriously funky (and free!) remix, you know you wanna make this release a permanent piece your summer selection.

Swedish duo Drop Out Orchestra are back with a new EP “It Will Never Be The Same Again”. Here you have two excellent remixes from Moullinex and Punks Jump Up. Drop Out Orchestra‘s are non stop tonight. They’ve just uploaded this awesome rework for Rolla’s Scape’s “Super Car” and honestly i can’t stop listening to it. These guys are always doing great stuff. It’s impossible to be inddiferent to their amazing feeling. This is an unreleased alternate remix we they made for their Dj sets. The full version is out now on digital, vinyl coming soon. Enjoy..!

Last year in September we reworked one of the best songs ever written, ‘Shackles (Praise You)’ by Mary Mary. We made a full vocal mix and an instrumental, each clocking in at around 3 minutes. Then we pressed them on to 25 clear vinyl 7″ singles that we offered to our SC followers. They sold out in hours. We also promised the people who bought them we wouldn’t repress or spread digital copies of the tracks. This may sound silly but we tought it was a good idea at the time.
Ever since we’ve been contacted by lots of people – some weeks several a day – wanting a copy, or a download, and so we’ve finally caved in to the pressure.
This mix is not the same as any of the vinyl mixes, it’s an extended dub, quite similar to the version we play live.
We hope the people who bought the original vinyl won’t be too upset – and we hope you all will like it.

Nicely nestled between nu-disco, cosmic-dance and slomo deep-disco, Lou Teti’s tunes are the definition of danceable. His label, ‘Tigers on a Leash’ (TOAL) out of Brooklyn, New York, has seen an all-star list of collaborators including Cassian, Drop Out Orchestra, Toomy Disco, Mario Basanov, Max Essa, Matthew Kyle and JKriv. Lou Teti’s original track, and a personal favorite of mine, “Talk About It” saw support from nu-disco main man himself, The Magician, as part of Magic Tape Seventeen a few months back.

First on the EP, Lou Teti’s original track “Shake” is a low-slung, spaced out tune that rides along at a cool 110bpm with a Balearic  build-up around a simple organic bass. Chill, cosmic…. I close my eyes and suddenly I’m sunbathing on Mars. Definitely diggin’ this one.

Toby Tobias delivers a deeper, cosmic remix that plays  heavily on echoing synths and warbley, cosmic sounds…. while Drop Out Orchestra slow things down with a very sunny indie-dance tune.

My favorite on the EP is most definitely JKrivs funked out version. This gems starts off strong with a housier beat than the original with a heavy dose of funky guitar that lead up to a very ‘psycho-killer’ bassline. Eventually you’re handed a funky cosmic synth with some killer disco groove and your mind is officially blown. Not to mention that seriously rad organ solo near the end that leads to a delightful explosion of funk.  Oh yes….. very nice, indeed!

A brand new mix from Sweden. Drop Out Orchestra clearly starting with the right foot with this hot mix including some upcoming tracks for 2012. But that’s not all. A touch of punk with The Clash Ft The Rapture (still amazed by how well it works), some unreleased remixes and two unknown tracks make the recipe. The result tastes delicious and leaves us with a bitter-sweet  sensation about what’s hidden behind track 5 and 11. Anyway, let’s wait for it to be revealed and enjoy while it’s hot.

Anyway, Drop Out Orchestra is presenting us with fluffy news. When we talk about Nu disco and some sub genres, these guys have become a reference to me. Hailing from Sweden, they have been shacking the world with some epic tunes and reworks. I mean, you don’t listen anything bad they have been producing. If this is the first time you are listening their stuff, good luck with that. You will have a long journey of good music to listen. Their cachy disco, full of delicious details and also strong beats, makes you dance and dance….

This new single “Ego” is another great track they usually play on their Dj set..s. More exactly after coming back from a gig at Solomun’s club Ego in Hamburg, They have decided to call it just that, as a tribute to one of the best clubs they’ve ever seen. Seems that everyone really enjoys this so much that they decided to release it. This single is remixed by Black Strobe, Lou Teti, Second Date and Tronik Youth. Besides this release, which is already available on Juno and all other digi shops October 3rd. These guys are about to release a new track on the forthcoming Aeroplane’s compilation and they are also working on remixes for Jadoo – Voodoo Love; Billie Ray Martin’s new project Opiates and also Black Strobe’s next single. Plus, there’s a new 12″ out soon with a bunch of re-edits, works.

Here we ago for another pack. Like usual we have 5 mixtapes to discover new music. I think Saturday is a good day to listen these mixtapes. I just press play and while i’m listening to them, i can do something else.

Today we have The Magician with his latest tape (13 already). This one has been released some days ago already, but i haven’t miss any, so i decided to post it. We also have three more lazy tapes from Drop Out Orchestra, Tronik Youth and Lazydisco (weekly radio show)! Last mixtape from A-Trak is very cool and bangs since the beginning, pumping disco, electro and more.
