WOW!!! Banger remix this one from Brodinski for Surkin’s “Lose Yourself” which the original belongs to his second single from Surkin’s first full length, USA. This pack comes with a radio friendly mix of Lose Yourself and its a cappella and besides this Brodinski‘s, it also comes with a remix from Rustie and a Live Edit of INYN. Dope!

Homework is formed by the dutch duo Tom Waist and Zip Stolk. They have started their career in 2007. At that time, they were just two kids who used to perform with white shirts and raven black ties.

Since that time of young kids, they have started to innovate, always with their vintage sources as an inspiration. When i say innovate, i mean they have been doing it with a lot class, amplitude and madness. If you start to go back on their productions, you will clearly notice this gradual evolution. We can say “Fissa Tune EP” was their catapult to the spotlight, which was widely acclaimed by everyone. This EP got attention and support by names like Brodinski, Crookers, Round Table Knights and many others….

After that bomb, they came out with “Hudson Square EP”. Maybe for many people this EP was not what they were expecting from Homework. In my personal opinion, i believe they grown up and showed everyone they were not just kids who wanted to be famous with tracks like “Fissa Tune”. This Ep was touching different feelings and styles. After this release they started to play all over the world. These dudes were really shacking the world!

About this new EP i’m very happy to see they didn’t stop in time and kept innovating. I was not expecting other thing from these two awesome producers. You can notice they are not kids anymore searching for fame. They have reached very high because they have worked very hard to reach this stage of their career. I’m tired to listen people comparing their work to Daft Punk or any other reference. These guys doesn’t have anything else to prove. They are Homework, and they are an excellent duo,period.
This EP comes with 2 originals and 2 remixes by Oliver$ and Samim and it is going to be available on the 20th June!!!

It’s confirmed, Yuksek is releasing his second album in June 13th named Living on the Edge of Time and containing 11tracks about witch we’ll make another post in the future. Now, “On a Train” EP will have to suffice.  Don’t take me wrong…isn’t a small thing! This 33 years old french producer is unpredictable… being the probable reason why he gets deeper and deeper under my skin every time he makes something new.

Getting himself influenced by almost all kinds of music in the world, it’s hard to believe he can make something less than schizophrenic. From Pop to Punk, crossing Electro, House, Disco, Classic, Rap, Big Beat and Rock…everything goes inside this guy brain and comes out in a new format. Guess he could even be inspired if he’d listen me washing the dishes.

Through the last years Yuksek has been spreading so much his arms that it’s becoming hard not to get touched by him. Beyond “Away from the Sea” (first LP – 2009) there are remixes all over – Phoenix, Gorillaz, Kaiser Chiefs, Ghostface Killah, Chromeo, Gossip, Autokratz and my 2 favorites Moby – “Mistake” and Prodigy – Invaders Must Die! If for any case you’re a Lady GAGA fan, don’t cry, Yuksek is quite democratic and made a remix for you too!

For the labeling freaks i’d say Yuksek is, for sure, on the Indie side of the barricade, also obvious when one listens to “On a Train” EP . Besides the 3 original tracks you get the acoustic piano based cover of “On the Train” from ALB and The Magician remix all sticked to the original feeling. Exception has to be made for the Gucci Vump’s remixes…having an old school house drum loop under the surface that would, naturally, get into my nerves, somehow Guillaume and Brodinski made it great. Building layers with synths, effects and a little bit of glitch Gucci Vump are a duo against music boredom…thumbs up! LOVE IT
