Sometimes the sun just comes from the most unexpected of places. Today we feature the Russian producer 5 Reasons, that falls really far from the tree, and has been producing hot summer tunes that you might expect from someone who actually lives in a place where the sun always shines bright. But I guess that for a 16 year old person, the power of dreaming is as much as the reality you live in.
I’m very glad that he can dream big and come up with a song like this. I can imagine myself on some beach bar at night and listening to this song in the background. But these melodic disco sounds accompanied by a beautiful piano that seem to come directly from the 80′s are complemented by the great voice of Patrick Baker, who is also on vocal duty for Satin Jackets next release “Only you”. And to top this there is of course a remix by Satin Jackets giving it’s tropical feel to this already wonderful release that comes this April 8th on Shiny Disco Club.

March was another excellent month of fantastic releases! In case you don’t remember, last month we extended our list up to 20 tracks. This month we could have extended to 25. It’s really amazing the amount of excellent releases we come across every month. So, there are at least 5 or 6 tracks that we didn’t include in the list below. Anna Lunoe just droped this tune to celebrate her 10k mile on Facebook. And we feel like this as to be shared among our readers because it’s just good. According to Anna, the song was recorded on a rainy day back in 2011, and a little different from what she’s been doing now, but that just goes to show that music is timeless. Here’s a smooth track for Sunday! A couple minutes ago, the Swiss producer Melodiesinfonie dropped on his Soundcloud a new single called “Loveisallweneed.” We have been following him for quite some time now, and we have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to share his music. “Loveisallweneed” will hit you straight in the heart. It starts with a smooth piano jazzy line filled with a lazy hip hop beat, followed by a cool micro vocal sample. Because he has just reached 1000 followers on Facebook, he decided to give away this pearl as a gift. Perfect for lazy Sundays….

As promised, MAU are back with a new original single titled “Cheetah” off their upcoming LP to be released in 2013. Being Portuguese, I couldn’t be more proud to have this five-piece band producing quality music like it’s the easiest thing in the world. “Cheetah” will instantly captivate your senses through the shining synths, denoting several influences which makes it impossible to place their music into one category! Is this Dreamwave? Chillwave or Electronic Pop? It is probably fair enough to say that MAU craftily created their own personal sound. For a first listen, you will feel a shiver that will climb up your spine! You will ask yourself, “How is it possible that I’ve never heard about these boys before!?” The good news is that you have an entire album coming out, which will rub out your thirst for more of the same poison. In case you missed their recent remixes, you should definitely check them out on Soundcloud and cuddle them on Facebook. By the way, MAU in Portuguese means something ‘bad’ or ‘evil’! Last week Jamie XX opened his DJ set at the Boiler Room with his own remix for the bonus single “Reconsider” off The xx’s latest album “Coexist.” To be honest, the original single might be my favorite track off their new album. I don’t know if this is going to be released, but I had to share it with you. Also, in case you missed his performance at the Boiler Room, check it out below the player. Pure gold….

Sweet stuff to start our week! Poolside is back with a new mix, and you already know that the bpm is lowww. I’ve copied their own thoughts about this piece. Read it below:

“Seasons Change” is a new mix for crisp Autumn days as Winter approaches and the evenings get shorter and shorter. It’s a collection of melancholy tunes we put together while driving through the Northeastern States this past October to fit the moods that come with the changing of the seasons.”

French producer Arnault Esteve, better know as Douze, did a great feel good remix of Henry Saiz & Cora Novoa‘s “Golden Dawn.” Honestly, probably one of the best pieces we’re posting today. We’re following Arnault by the time he used to collaborate with the legendary Kris Menace (when I say we, I mean me, because we only started last year) as well as his debut solo EP, “Les Paradis Artificiels” via Discotexas, and on, and on….  Again, to be honest,  it has been so long time since we heard about Douze, that I almost forgot how good is music actually is. This remix is another piece of smooth elegant disco sliced with a solid tender beat. “Golden Down” is being released today via Natura Sonoris and you can purchase it on beatport.

Teen Daze has just shared another single titled “Garden 1,” which is taken from his upcoming LP “The Inner Mansions” to be released on November 6th via Lefse Records. We have been trying to follow all the singles he has been dropping from his new album, and it’s really hard to tell which one is our favorite. The album is a collection of songs that were written between the months of May and June, and they are his most introspective and moving to date. “Garden 1″ is another brilliant piece of dreamy and smooth music, captivating you trough a spiritual trip. Absolutely brilliant!

Poolside’s music video for “Only Everything” conveys the great depths of a child’s imagination. What would be a normal boring car ride for any adult becomes a roller coaster for the child with a vivid imagination. The funky yet extremely uplifting beat brings about a sense of childhood nostalgia.

So, that’s the reason why I kept it just for me all this time. This remix by UK producer edleigh is exactly what you need after a hard day at work. Smooth beats and beautiful landscapes….

Cosmonaut Grechko just dropped this instrumental version of Christa Vi’s upcoming single “Small Way Through.” The perfect sound to start your day. As usual our favorite Russian producer presents us soft, elegant and warm beats. The perfect recipe for a peaceful day near the closest pool. Enjoy your swim….

LA-based duo Poolside are in the order of the day! Their brand new LP “Pacific Standard Time” is fresh and it is a deep dive into warm, dreamy, and mellow beats. There has been a huge hype around their music. They’ve been featured on Pitchfork with their single “Slow Down,” but this new LP is not just that single. You will also find great tunes from the past such as: “Do You Believe” or “Harvest Moon.” In total the LP comes with 16 tracks. I’ve been listening to it on repeat since yesterday, and there are two tracks that completely captivated me: “Golden Hour” and “Take Me There”. As you may already know xxyyxx‘s “About You” easily got attention all over the blogosphere as one of the most brilliant tunes of 2012, specially for it’s creative video. I have been asking myself if there was any possibility to make a better remix of the original. I think it’s almost impossible. “About You” is definitely the beginning of something new. However, this remix from 18 year old Parisian producer Dream Koala, takes the original into a parallel universe of dreamy sounds that are constantly being “re-washed”. LA-based duo Poolside are back with a new single “Slow Down”, from their upcoming album “Pacific Standard Time”! YES, really good news! Can you imagine how big this can become? Summer is just about to start, and that’s exactly when they “enter the in the scene”. I truly hope this new album is as awesome as their previous productions. The release date is settled for July 9, via their very own label Day & Night and in Different in Europe. In the meanwhile watch the video below and download this single for free!

Although this song is almost two months old , I felt compelled to post it today sheerly based off how awesome it is. Featuring the vocals of musician Jose Gonzales, “Junip” is a track constructed by London producer Ben Zaven Crane, or what most people know him by, Mojo Filter. An airy mixture of tropical melodies, ambient synths, and trance-like vocals, “Junip” is a track that was made for pure relaxation and casual listening. Supposed to be a tribute to the band Jose Gonzales used to front, Mojo Filter manages to take the group’s track “It’s Alright” into an entirely different direction. Although it diverges from the original quite a bit, this remix would certainly make the former Swedish-band Junip proud. Simply fantastic!
