If you follow GS you must be aware of our love for the Lisbon based producer Moullinex. Whether he is remixing others or producing his own music, he’s proven to be a reference in the electro-pop and disco world. This guy is a real genius and we’re always waiting for his next release.

After his trip to the Azores, to play on the distinct Tremor festival, Luis Clara Gomes announced his upcoming album “Elsewhere”, out on May 18th via Discotexas, and released its first single “Take A Chance”. At the first listening happiness is the feeling. On a smooth vibe, supported by simple strings, a soft beat and a funky bass, the track makes you loosen up and dance along. When you take a second to close your eyes and pay attention to the apparently light vocals, the track hits you right in your heart and it sounds like you’re already nostalgic, yet resigned. This kind of impossible duality of softness and profoundness conveys this track a magic feeling.

We had the chance to experience it, and we can say that Moullinex Live is simply incredible. Luís Clara Gomes leaves the deck and grabs his bass guitar, invites his friends and gives an outstanding show! Avoiding the use of samples, the Portuguese producer turns his music upside down and presents it acoustically. We can dance like nobody’s watching by the sound of drums, guitars and pure vocals – clean and perfect!

If by any chance you are in Lisbon on May 28th make sure you stop by Lux Frágil and enjoy the album launch show. If you aren’t, you still have a few chances to see Moullinex Live. Check out the upcoming shows after the jump.
