Golden Scissors

Earlier this week our beloved Jamie XX presented us with two new amazing tracks from his upcoming album: “Loud Places” and “Gosh”. These two tracks are added to the previously released “Sleep Sound” and “Girl” in the alignment of the upcoming solo debut album “In Colour”. Today he made sure we would start the weekend with a huge smile on our faces and released the video for “Loud Places”, alongside with the release date of the album: June 1st.

“Loud Places” starts with the unique voice of Romy Madley Croft, Jamie’s bandmate in The XX, and with a slightly dark vibe, the feeling is really The XX-ish. When the chorus starts the feeling changes and you can’t hold a smile. The sound fulfils your heart, heats your soul. It’s like nothing else matters and you’ll be happy forever. But you won’t… The track brings you down to earth as it ends just the way it starts – dark.

The video goes along with the track and conveys a sense of happiness and freedom. Jamie and Romy are skateboarding in their favourite places of London – in the skatepark, in the streets, in the subway. With an outstanding photography and slowed down action, alongside with the happy faces and the accomplice look from Jamie and Romy, you really get into their special places. You almost feel you are part of their friendship.

Looking forward to get in touch with the full album. In the meanwhile you can pre-order “In Colour” or buy the released tracks here.
