If you are following us for some time now, you already know that we’re fans from Swedish duo, Gidge. We came across their music about a year ago, when we shared their excellent rendition of El Perro Del Mar’s track “Hold Off The Dawn” |listen here|, which is still one of our favorites from last year. Since then, we’ve been following all their moves, and there’s another special single titled “For Seoul Pt. I” |listen here| that we also had the chance to share with our readers. A couple days ago, the duo unveiled the first cut from their debut album, and the truth is that the single has been on repeat since the first moment we heard it. “You” is an eight-minute slice piece of hypnotic atmospheric sounds superbly designed, clearly divided in two different stages. It’s practically impossible to stay indifferent behind the track, since the creative process is truly impressive. The fist part of the piece is focused on an interesting percussion work and swirling synths, pairing perfectly with an addictive female looped vocal sample. Around the minute 3:44 there’s a smooth and long drop that slowly grows together an immense heavy bass-line that for sure will captivate you attention. We’re pretty sure that it’s just a matter of time until Gidge’s music becomes more prolific than never. Make sure to download your free copy below, and stay tuned for the new album, which is expected to drop later this year. Excellent !
