Here’s our first Holy Sounday set of 2014! Before heading the main issue of our post, we want to thank everyone who has been reposting our sets on Soundcloud. It means a lot to us, since the majority of the tracks we post are from newcomers and all the exposition they can get is never enough. We’re also adding for the first time a photo from our good friend João Correia, who’s based in the Azores Islands and he has an amazing collection of photos of the local landscape, fauna and flora. Make sure to check him out on Facebook, because he’s always delivering stunning pictures. As usual, we’re featuring another pack of free tracks. Make sure to download the whole thing, read our brief explanation about each piece below the player, and please, support your favorite artists!
HOLY SOUNDAY – CHAPTER 11 – DOWNLOAD THE ENTIRE SET HERE ///
We’re starting off our Holy set with a gorgeous rendition from Portuguese producer Joel Azevedo (aka Silenx) of Fancy Mike’s track “Superman.” The piece is taken from a free compilation titled “Year Three” released in the beginning of year via the canadian record label, King Deluxe. We have previously shared some material from Joel, and it’s always a pleasure to post his music over here at Golden Scissors. In out modest opinion, he’s one of the most talented producers coming from Portugal that truly deserves the spotlight and international recognition. You can grab the entire compilation as free download via King Deluxe’s Bandcamp.
We have been posting almost non-stop Skywide’s music. It’s almost impossible to say indifferent behind such an incredible personal sound aesthetic. Once again, we’re facing a superb production called “Through This Winter Storm.” If you have been following our previous Holy Sounday series, you already know what to expect: Feelings…
We have been listening on repeat to this “Champagne” track from Blackedout. The single was premiered last month on mixmag, which follows up his fantastic debut self-titled EP. If you’re feeling this one, you should definitely check his stellar tune “Bambi, ” already with more than 160k plays on YouTube. Excellent!
We have been following for quite some time the Oakland-based producer Matthew Suggett, aka Insightful. A couple hours ago, he dropped an excellent redemption of Sampha’s massive single “Too Much.” If you’re familiarized with the original piece, listen here, you’re going to adore this rework. We’re definitely facing a super creative deconstruction/reconstruction, which emphasize all the best you can hear from the original. Excellent vocal/instrumental rearrangement, resulting in a deep and immense atmosphere. On repeat…
“Sad Shawty III” is taken from Howlings “Sad Shawty” series. For what he wrote on Facebook, there will be one last Sad Shawty track to be released soon. He’s also planning to drop some visual content to alongside with these pearls. Just like his previous releases, we’re being presented with another piece full of deep and intensive sounds. It’s not new anymore that the San Francisco producer is one of our favorites producers, specially, when we talk about this specific sound-line. Superb, once again!
