I’ve spent more than 15 minutes trying to come up with a good way to start this post, but these are two different worlds and I can’t seem to find a connection. Fact 1, Landshapes are a british band that were metamorphosed from Lulu and the lampshades, better known from their viral cup video “You’re Gonna Miss Me“. Their sound is a sort of new folk that follows in the footsteps of Beach House, Andrew Bird or Vetiver. Fact 2, T-E-E-D is Orlando Higginbottom, the son of a choir conductor and is the underdog of the club scene, with a different approach on house music than most, the guy that all the major radio presenters love but is too deep and dark for the major audience. Which is probably for the better because it gives him time to go around and play with beautiful pieces like this one.
As with all of T-E-E-D’s work, this is a composition with highs and lows, different sounds, a deep atmosphere and a deep club beat. It’s never boring, never dull, it is full on sounds always lurking in the corner to come out. I sincerely hope to hear this in the club. it’s amazing.
The song is a part of Landshapes new album “RAMBUTAN” already on sale at Bella Union. But take the time and listen to T-E-E-D’s masterpiece below.
