Here’s the fourth installment of our “Holy Sunday” series! As usual we bring you the perfect soundtrack for a peaceful and relaxed Sunday! The photo above is from the beautiful island of Pico located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, and it belongs to the magical Archipelago of the Azores in Portugal. As usual, all these tracks are the result of the research we make during the week. We truly work hard to find these pearls, since some of these producers are new to us. Anyway, click play below and take a read for more info/download!
This week we’re starting with something completely different! We just came across a delightful cover from London singer Emily Underhill of Disclosure’s mega single “Latch.” It sounds just perfect to open our set! It’s just impossible not to like this simple version of a magical song. Emily’s vocals works perfectly together with a simple piano line!
“Away” is the first single original single from Parisian singer/producer Julia Losfelt. This track has been widely covered around the blogosphere. We’re specially in love for the interesting instrumental evolution of the piece allied with the mellow voice of Julia. This track also got the touch from Andrea, which we have previously blogged here at Golden Scissors. In case you missed some of our posts about Andrea’s music, revisit here his stunning single “Another,” and “Want You Back” |listen/download|. Excellent!
Chloe Martini is the project from Polish up-and-coming beat maker Anna Zmijewska. We are following her for quite some time now, and today we decided to share the single “love u so.” Besides being so short, this track is delightful and rich, denoting already a high quality of production skill. If you’re enjoying this one, make sure to follow her stuff on soundcloud. You’re going to be impressed with the amount of amazing music she has been delivering!
Not so long ago we featured the single “Detached” |listen/download| from San Francisco producer Howlings. A couple days he dropped a brand new EP titled “Hold Me Close.” It was very hard to choose just one track to share. We’re truly impressed by quality of his sound, as well as for the variety his latest EP. For sure we’re going to hear more beats from Howlings, since he’s very young. We’ve picked the track that titles the EP. You will instantly embrace it, specially for the vocal “game” he plays repeatedly driving you directly into his own world. There’s also a light glitch that sounds perfect along the piece. Howlings might become a serious case of success in the future. Let’s wait see!
We don’t know much about MOSIS! The single “On Ur Side” is taken from a free compilation called “Booty Based Mob” that was released a couple hours ago via Montreal’s label Booty Bakery. “On Ur Side” will surprise you, specially for the intensity of the atmosphere and tension created by the vocal. Might not be the most easy listening track, but if you give it a chance, it will grow on you. It’s a promise!
