Golden Scissors

I’m going to be honest here and tell you that I didn’t like Two Door Cinema Club’s last album. We know that you’ve probably seen to much remixes from them and it seems like everybody does a remix of their songs. I don’t want in any way to offend any artist because I appreciate everybody who wants to work in this industry. So when a new remix of song you just don’t care comes in, you may put it aside in favour of trying to find that sweet sound to post about. This one as been flashing in my eyes all day until just now, and there’s no greater feeling then when you press play on a song you’ve just been skipping and the sound you hear feels like magic. This is the first time Alex Trimble’s voice makes sense to me and it’s a proper electro pop song. Pyramid just made my week, literately. Everything seems to fit perfectly here, he kept all the good parts, added his own bass line, a synth line here and there and the result is a great track you won’t regret to hear. And to keep in line with the structure of the original, the ending is even more magical. Merci Monsieur Etienne Copin!
Pyramid is a friend of ours, he will be releasing the “So Far Gone” Ep as a joint venture with Crayon soon and you can catch the first single “Wolf” on his soundcloud page here, or just buy it on beatport as part of the latest Kitsuné instalment here.
