Even though it has been out for several months, Eat More Cake’s “The Remixes Vol. 1″ is still making rounds through my head on a daily basis. One tune from the collection that I can’t seem to put down is their phenomenal remix of David E. Sugar’s “Flea Market.” Taking the fairly carefree original, Eat More Cake have decided to transform the electro-pop tune into something that’s incredibly more dramatic and complex. Although David E. Sugar’s easygoing vocals are still present, they are now accompanied by a mesmerizing assortment of electronic and organic melodies that leave the track sounding much more cultured and sophisticated. In all, Eat More Cake have taken a song that was geared towards a slightly younger crowd and have turned it into something those of the older persuasion can also enjoy. I’m feeling more mature already!
