Gomma Records is one of those labels that never goes “out of style”. When they are about to release something you already know it is going to be huge. I also love the fact they always bringing new artists. They never miss when they make their “castings” with new artists. They are always one step forward….
I’m pretty sure i have bought all their releases. Some on vinyl and others just digital. I can assure you that in 10 years these releases we are listening today, are going to keep sound fresh. This means their music is really has quality. You may say i’m exaggerating, but i’m not. This is a fact.! I clearly remember when they came with their first releases…. since then they keep dropping bombs and i hope they never stop. In fact, Gomma can touch several music genres, but they always do this with quality musicians and they are not always the same ones, which in my opinion is the right path to keep it fresh.
In case you have never heard about Mercury before, i’m going to give you some help. Formed by the Swiss duo Mel and Simon, Mercury born from two different music Worlds, creating the perfect symbiosis. Mel took his first steps as Dj in Hip Hop of the late 90s and later, under the alter ego of “Audioporno”, passed his artistic “puberty” in the emerging Electroclash and French Touch scene. In the meanwhile Simon, a well trained drummer, who played in semi-prominent, Prince influenced Funk bands during the 80s and early 90s and in his late twenties received decent fame as a Deep House and Drum and Bass producer. This new EP called “Swetness” goes a little bit further or maybe it’s just different. This time we have Disco House with some sexy vocals. This awesome track is superbly remixed by Catz N’ Dogz and it’s coming out on September 16th.
