Golden Scissors

This is our first interview ever! Actually, it’s not our first one, because it was made by our good Australian friend and producer Jordan F. He was so cool and gave it to us to post.
I’m very excited to show this to everyone. I spent all day at work thinking about this. I arrived home slept a bit, and here i am :)

Flashworx is a Swiss duo formed by Anthony Hammer and Mike Arthur Le Trèfle who produces synth retro music based on the 80′s, they like to call it shiny and sparkly music. These guys are one of my favorites ever. Their productions are incredible awesome. It’s a big honor to have access to this interview and share to the world.

ENJOY!!!!!

1. When and how was Flashworx formed?

We met in December 2005 and we formed Flashworx in march 2006. We had some common friends. Actually we used to listen the same music and have the same influences.

2. How would you describe your sound?

It’s a kind of nu italo disco, shiny and sparkly music. We don’t like to name our music…

3. Where did you two find inspiration for your debut EP ‘Two Guys In Japan’?

Firstly, in Japan!! Secondly, when we were in South of Italy.

4. What instruments and/or software do you use?

We started with Cubase 1… Then we discovered Logic Pro with a lot of VSTs, they’re really good if you spent a bit of time on programming it. Now we’re trying to integrate new instruments in our music like guitar, sax and hardware synths.

5. Flashworx’s production always engages the listener with a story, in your views, how important is this to your production?

In fact, we want to make music for every one. We don’t use vocals in our productions (for now ;) ) so we have to inspire ourselves imagining a history to create the tracks, of course everybody is free to imagine all what he/she wants when he/she listens our music. We try to share our passion with the listeners through our music, and give the better we can do.

6. Who are some of the artists you have worked with, and what did you learn from working with them?

We did remixes for many artists. The remixes make us better to improve our style for our own productions and try something new sounds for our future productions. Lately we’re working a lot with Neon Workout, he’s a really professional producer and a nice guy. For now I can’t tell you more about, but Flashworx sound will be even better in the future.

7. What’s in store for Flashworx this year and years to come?

A new EP is going to be released really soon on Girlfriend Records, this is called Futurisma with 4 original tracks. A new original track for the compilation of Girlfriend Records, and two more EP’s also. It’s gonna be nice. In fact we got a lot of tracks we made. And now we are working on our new projects, something different, but always in the Flashworx way, to be continued. Thank you very for all the listeners across the world, we love you and we will be back really soon!
